JOB DESCRIPTION
Requirements:
· Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
· Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification in an adjacent discipline
· Proven experience in managing the warehouse and distribution function for at least 3 years
· Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards, including health and safety, environmental, and transportation laws
· Knowledge of basic controls related to cost, service and safety
· Desirable Qualifications, Capabilities and Knowledge
· Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as Transport Management Software and Warehouse Management Software
· Higher degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management
· Strong proven track record in activities which led to key business results
· Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to identify opportunities for improvement
· Experience in developing and managing an operational scorecard which leads to continuous improvement
Responsibilities:
· Ensures the overall lowest cost solution for storage and distribution to external and internal customers
· Monitors customer delivery performance and experience to ensure the company performs to customer expectations and procedures
· Develop a network on internal customers and ensure alignment on requirements for both functions
· Management of the logistics function
· Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures that align with business goals and objectives
· Management of outbound, inbound and engineering warehouses and related operations as a direct accountability
· Monitor and analyse logistics performance metrics, such as on- Time delivery, transportation costs, and inventory levels
· Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
· Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health, safety and security
· Identify and assess logistics risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them
· Manage a team of logistics professionals, providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities
· Establish and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, including carriers, freight forwarders, and warehouses
· Stock is managed professionally and risks of expiry or obsolescence managed in a timely manner with the business Administration
· Develop and manage logistics budgets, forecasts, and KPIs
· Ensure appropriate reports or dashboards in place to manage the key performance areas of the function including service and cost
