Commis Chef / Junior Chef - Heritage Wine Farm (Stellenbosch) - Stellenbosch

Requirements:
Our client, a heritage wine farm, situated in the stellenbosch region, is looking to employ a commis chef, with preferably sound pastry skills.
This is an exciting career building opportunity for a young, energetic, self- motivated commis chef, who is detail orientated, calm and able to perform under pressure, to develop their skills in a well- controlled, high- volume restaurant operation. A pre- requisite is that the individual resides in the winelands area. Drivers licence and own vehicle will be advantageous.
Formal chef / hospitality qualifications
Minimum of 1 year commis chef experience
Basic knowledge of all sections
Experience in pastry section will be beneficial
National senior certificate
Fully bilingual
Basic computer skills
Strong operational and leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Focussed, creative and passionate about the hospitality industry
Able to work under pressure
Self-motivated
Understanding of basic food hygiene practices
Responsibilities:

Daily food preparation and cooking
Maintain control of stock
Ensure compliance with health codes and regulations
Maintaining cleaning schedules
Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality and appearance
Extreme attention to detail

Benefits:
